Theft Investigation Leads to Charges for Three

Three people are facing numerous charges after a theft investigation in Princeton on Sunday.

According to WKDZ, Princeton Police were called to Walmart after a shoplifting complaint. An investigation revealed that suspects had left with items they didn't purchase, but ran out of gas while attempting to flee.

Officers say the items taken have a value of over $1,400.

During the investigation, officers confronted 34-year-old Jennifer L. Day, and say she was under the influence of a substance. Officers also spoke with 65-year-old Darlene Kellam and 37-year-old Brian K. Bourland. Bourland was reportedly found to be in possession of stolen merchandise and a counterfeit $50 bill.

Day is being charged with public intoxication, and theft by unlawful taking of $500 or more. Kellam was issued a citation for theft by unlawful taking of $500 or more. Bourland is being charged with theft by unlawful taking of $500 or more, and criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Day and Bourland were lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
