A Livingston County man is facing multiple charges after a two-county vehicle pursuit on Tuesday.

The Crittenden County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was dispatched to a report of a burglary in process on Frances Road. The caller stated that his wireless security system sent him a photo of a shirtless man trying to get into his home.

The deputy arrived and met with the suspect, 51-year-old David Kirk of Salem, at the end of the driveway. The deputy instructed Kirk to shut off his car several times but he refused and sped away.

A high-speed pursuit ensued through parts of Crittenden County and Livingston County. Deputies said at one point, Kirk nearly struck a deputy's vehicle head-on.

A Livingston County deputy was able to end the vehicle pursuit with a legal vehicle intervention. Kirk then fled on foot but was captured a short time later.

During a search of Kirk's vehicle, deputies allegedly found a stolen .44 magnum revolver and a meth pipe. Kirk was arrested and lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.

He faces numerous charges in Crittenden County including burglary, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, reckless driving and criminal trespassing. He'll face similar charges in Livingston County upon completion of the investigation.
