The crash happened around 4:30 pm in the 5000 block of Highway 641 South. The Calloway County Sheriff's Office says a car driven by 73-year-old Judy Richard, of Benton, was traveling north when it dropped off the right shoulder of the road.
Deputies say the car struck a concrete culvert and overturned multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels. A passenger, 45-year-old April Richard, was trapped inside the car and had to be extricated by mechanical means.
Richard was transported to Murray Calloway County Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
