A Mayfield man was arrested early Thursday morning on methamphetamine and other charges.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon said deputies received a call about a suspicious-acting man in the Hickory area. Redmon said 19-year-old Michael L West was found sitting on the back of a vehicle. While speaking with West, deputies learned that he had discarded a bicycle that he said he found in a ditch at a nearby home.

Deputies located the bicycle and conducted a search of West. He was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

West was arrested and charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass and criminal littering. He was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
