The Southern Seven Health Department reported one new death as a result of COVID-19 on Thursday.

The patient was a man in his 60s from Pulaski County, and is the first COVID-19 related death in the county. There have been 21 deaths reported in the Southern Seven region since the start of the pandemic.

Southern Illinois saw nine new cases of the virus, including one case in Hardin County, two in Johnson County, one in Massac County, and  five in Union County. The patients include one child under the age of ten, five patients in their 20s, a man in his 30s, a man in his 50s, and a woman in her 70s.  Currently a total of 546 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Southern Seven region since the start of the pandemic.

The Graves County Health Department announced four new cases of the virus on Thursday. The new cases include two children ages 10 or younger and a man in his 60s, all isolating at home. The fourth patient, a man in his 40s, is hospitalized. There have been 533 cases of the virus confirmed in Graves County since the pandemic began.

The Marshall County Health Department reported seven new cases of COVID-19, the highest daily total for the county in nearly two weeks. The patients range in age from 13 to 48; each individual is isolating at home. Marshall County has reported a cumulative total of 109 cases, with 80 recoveries and three deaths.

The Calloway County Health Department also reported seven newly confirmed cases on Thursday. The total number of confirmed cases for Calloway County is now at 217, with 164 cases fully recovered, 45 isolated at home, 3 hospitalized, and 5 deaths.

The Purchase District Health Department announced 21 new cases of COVID-19, including ten cases in McCracken County,  four in Carlisle County, three in Hickman County, and two cases each in Ballard and Fulton County. The patients range in age from 12 years to 81 years old.  McCracken County has 344 individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19, Ballard has 39, Carlisle has 44, Hickman has 46, and Fulton has 71.  There have been four deaths in McCracken County, two deaths in Fulton County, and one death in Carlisle County.
