The investigation into last year's officer-involved shooting in Calloway County is still ongoing.

A detective with the Kentucky State Police critical incident response team said they are still awaiting results on evidence being tested at their central lab in Frankfort. He said once those final lab results are received, the case will be presented to the Calloway County commonwealth attorney for review.

A Calloway County sheriff's deputy and Murray police officer Justin Swope responded to Radio Road in Dexter on Nov. 2 after a report of a suspicious person. Police say an altercation resulted in Swope fatally shooting 42-year-old Justin D. Hale of Almo.

Neither officer was injured in the altercation.

The Murray Police Department later confirmed that Swope was placed on paid administrative leave.
