Owensboro officials are pushing to have the Interstate 67 project routed through the city and want people to write their congressmen in support of the project.

The Owensboro-Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau director, Karen Miller, says I-67 "would change Owensboro."

Miller told The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer "we would no longer have to tell people that it's hard to get here."

The proposed interstate would run from I-69 at Washington, IN, through Owensboro and continue on to I-65 at Bowling Green. It would use the four-lane U.S. 231 in Indiana, the William H. Natcher Bridge over the Ohio River at Maceo, U.S. 60 and the William H. Natcher Parkway through Daviess, Ohio, Butler and Warren counties.
