A North Carolina man was arrested Tuesday after a police pursuit in Livingston County.

The Kentucky State Police says troopers attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding shortly before 6 p.m. on State Route 453 near Iuka. The driver fled onto Heater Store Road but lost control, running over a road sign. He then turned onto Ramage Cemetery Road and parked with the lights turned off.

Troopers arrested the driver, 20-year old Tevin Nicander of Cary, NC. He's charged charged with first degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, and other traffic offenses.

A passenger in the vehicle was released from the scene without charges.
