A tentative deal is in the works to bring a new German auto parts company to Western Kentucky.
The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development has granted preliminary approval for an incentives package to allow Kayser Automotive Systems to construct a $17.5 million plant in Fulton County. The new facility could create more than 120 new jobs in an area with a 16 percent unemployment rate.
The jobs would reportedly pay about $17 an hour.
There has been no official word on whether the deal will go through, but Governor Steve Beshear is scheduled to be in Fulton County Friday at 10:30 am to make an industrial announcement.
