The Humane Society of Calloway County's 17th Annual Bark in the Park will be Saturday, June 30th from 11 am to 2 pm in the Murray Central Park Courthouse Pavilion. As a spectator or participant, enjoy pet contests such as best tail wagger, terrific tricks, dog/human look-alike and best vocal performance.

There will be paw painting, cake walk, musical hoops, bobbing for hot dogs and refreshments for people and dogs. Pets and their families can have commemorative photographs taken by professional pet photographer Crystal Rogers.  While at Bark in the Park, bids can be placed on more than 100 silent auction items that range from pet toys and veterinarian exams to restaurant gift certificates and gas cards.

T-shirts will be available with fun, new designs touting pet adoption and love of pets. Microchip your dog, get custom pet ID tags or purchase a DNA kit to discover the ancestry of your mixed breed dog.

Attendees will be treated to demonstrations of search and rescue and dog obedience. There will be group photo at 11:45 am of all the dogs in attendance who were adopted from the local animal shelter or Humane Society.

This year’s Bark in the Park is sure to be fun for everyone and proceeds will benefit programs of the Humane Society such as spay/neuter assistance, Friends of the Shelter, Good Samaritan, Dog and Cat Adoption and many others. The Humane Society reminds everyone that all well-behaved dogs up-to-date on their vet care and on a leash at all times are welcome to attend. No females in season or aggressive dogs, please.
