A Murray man has been arrested in connection with a multi-state theft investigation.
According to the Kentucky State Police, detectives began getting information in early January about possible fraudulent business transactions related to the sale of large equipment.
The investigation reportedly revealed victims in Kansas, North Carolina, Vermont, Texas, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. The total amount of large equipment fraudulently sold totaled nearly $750,000.
Troopers arrested 37-year-old Matthew P. Crawford and charged him with five counts of theft by deception under $10,000, five counts of theft by deception over $10,000, and four counts of theft by failure to make required disposition. He was booked into the Calloway County Jail.
Police say federal charges are also possible.
