A Murray man is facing charges after an investigation into an attempted robbery.

According to the Murray Police Department, on Friday morning at approximately 10 am, they received a report of an attempted robbery taking place in the parking lot of a business on North 12th Street.

Officers arrived on the scene where they learned that the victims had been inside of their vehicle when a man got into the backseat and reportedly pulled out a gun, and began making demands. One victim was able to flee from the vehicle and call for help, which caused the suspect to flee the vehicle before officers arrived.

Through the information provided to them, officers believed the suspect to be 22-year-old Montrell Williams. An arrest warrant was obtained for Williams, and later that afternoon he was located and taken into custody.

He is facing a charge of first degree robbery, and was lodged in the Calloway County Jail.
