A Murray Man was arrested June 5th following a joint investigation by numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, over the past several months.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, they were notified in September of 2018 by the McCracken County Sheriff's Office that 59-year-old James Norsworthy was allegedly a source supply for crystal methamphetamine in western Kentucky.

Calloway County Sheriff's Deputies served a search warrant at Norsworthy's home on KY 94 West and found methamphetamine, and also cash on Norsworthy's person, which is believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.

They also found six pounds of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms, scales, and packing materials indicative of drug trafficking on the property. Norsworthy is a convicted felon and unable to legally possess firearms or ammunition.

The investigation found that Norsworthy had been selling methamphetamine for many years, but had only lived at this address for approximately a year. Large quantities of methamphetamine were being brought to his home, hidden in the gas tanks of vehicles.

The Sheriff's Office says this information is just now being released due to the fact that law enforcement did not want to compromise the ongoing investigation, due to their continuing to intercept large quantities of methamphetamine flooding western Kentucky.

Norsworthy was arrested at the time the search warrant was served, and taken to the Calloway County Jail.
