According to the Calloway County Circuit Court Clerk, Charles Harding and Deneyar Kim Puckett appeared before Judge James Jameson, and not guilty pleas were entered on their behalf. They are both scheduled to appear in court for a status hearing on March 5.
Harding and Puckett were arrested November 24 by Murray Police after Ricky Puckett was found dead in an apartment on South 5th Street. Deneyar Kim Puckett was found in another apartment without permission and was arrested for burglary. Harding was arrested on a manslaughter charge after he reportedly confessed to striking Ricky Puckett in the head with a pipe-style object on the previous day. The two men were reportedly arguing over the woman.
After testimony was presented on December 17, a Grand Jury indicted Harding on an amended charge of 2nd degree assault, and indicted Deneyar Kim Puckett for murder (domestic violence), in addition to the burglary charge. The Pucketts had previously been married.
