According to Kentucky State Police, the crash happened at the intersection of KY 348 and Cone Road in Benton at approximately 6:15 pm. Troopers say 39-year-old Robin M Caruso, of Benton, was traveling west on KY 348 and had stopped to turn left onto Cone Road. A westbound motorcycle, operated by 54-year-old Jack Clark, of Benton, failed to stop and ran into the rear of Caruso's vehicle.
After striking the rear end of Caruso's vehicle, Clark and his motorcycle crossed into the eastbound lane and was struck by an SUV, driven by 43-year-old Todd A. Whitis, of Mayfield.
Troopers say Clark was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner.
