A Graves County man who was reported missing Thursday night was arrested Friday morning after an armed standoff with police.

Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden said deputies and Kentucky State Police troopers responded Thursday evening to a report of a missing man at a home in the Lynnville area.

Family told deputies 61-year-old Thomas Paul Erickson of Farm Road had gone turkey hunting on foot and never returned home. The family was concerned due to possible health issues.

After a five-hour search by several agencies, Erickson was found in a dense thicket armed with a handgun. He reportedly began pointing the gun at responders and threatening to shoot.

After about 30 minutes of negotiating, Erickson was disarmed and taken into custody. He was found to be intoxicated and under the influence of medication.

Erickson was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, menacing, alcohol intoxication, public intoxication, and third-degree terroristic threatening. He refused medical treatment and was booked into the Graves County Jail.
