McClendon Joins Mayfield First Christian Staff

Mayfield native Laura McClendon has joined the staff of First Christian Church as the new Director of Christian Education.

In this part-time position, she will be responsible for children, youth and young adult programming, and will provide support for small group ministries.

Laura grew up attending FCC and is a graduate of Mayfield High School. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Transylvania University, and a masters in business administration from the University of Louisville.
 
Laura is a teacher/tutor providing educational services for students needing academic support in the Mayfield City School system.  She is active in Cards after Hours, Mayfield Middle School’s after-school enrichment program. 

She leads a school club and volunteers with supervised activities several times a week. Previously she served as a volunteer reader for Mayfield Elementary School.

Her extensive business background includes working as an Adjunct Instructor in the College of Business Administration for Sullivan University, and serving as a Global Distributor Sales Specialist and Sales and Marketing Coordinator, for a Louisville firm.  She also worked for Arco Aluminum for five years as the company’s Inside Sales Manager.
