Mayfield Man Wanted on Rape Charges Arrested

MAYFIELD - A man wanted on rape charges was arrested Thursday.

According to the Mayfield Police Department, officers received information Thursday night about a man in the area of Broadway Place who had an active warrant for his arrest.

Officers canvased the area, and observed the suspect leaving the area in a vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle near the 300 block of South 16th Street.

Officers found 31-year-old Prince Benjamin, of Mayfield, in the driver's seat. Police confirmed that Benjamin had an active warrant for his arrest.

Benjamin was taken into custody and transported to the Graves County Jail. He's charged with a complaint warrant for two counts of 2nd degree rape and two counts of 2nd degree sodomy.
