According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Saturday night around 8:45, deputies were dispatched to Walker Harris Lane near Calvert City in reference to a house fire with a possible victim. Deputies said someone entered the home, assaulted the homeowner, and started a fire.
The homeowner, 63-year-old Edward Harris, was treated by Marshall County EMS before being flown by Air Evac to a hospital for further treatment.
The case remains under investigation.
