A Mayfield man has been arrested after two vehicle thefts and a burglary were reported in Graves County.

The Graves County Sheriff's Department responded at 2:30 am Monday to a burglary alarm at Stop and Go convenience store at the intersection of Kentucky Highways 131 and 58 near Mayfield. Deputies found the front doors smashed, possibly by a vehicle.

About 30 minutes later, Mayfield Police Department requested help getting a driver to stop his vehicle, but officers from both agencies lost sight of the pickup truck. When the owner of the truck was contacted, he said his Dodge truck had apparently been stolen and there was a Kia van abandoned in his driveway.

At 3:34 am, someone called 911 to report that a Dodge pickup had just pulled into his place of employment, and the driver got out and stole his Nissan Xterra. When the victim attempted to open the door and remove the suspect, the man accelerated, busting through a chain-link fence to drive away on Highway 45.

Surveillance video from Stop and Go showed the white truck smashing the doors of the business, but the driver was apparently scared by the store's audible alarm, and left.

About 10:30 am, Carlisle County Sheriff Will Gilbert found the Xterra in a church parking lot in Miburn, and said the suspect was asleep in the back seat. Graves County deputies went to the church and arrested 22-year-old Dolton Lee Graves.

He was charged with two counts of automobile theft, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, and on two outstanding warrants.
