The Ballard County Sheriff's Office says deputies were alerted to a suspicious person in the area of West Kentucky Drive and Aspen Drive in La Center. The man was allegedly walking around businesses that were closed, carrying what looked like a firearm covered in some clothing.
Deputies made contact with a man matching the description in the area of West 1st Street and Chestnut Street. Deputies said the man appeared to have a long rifle wrapped in clothing. Upon further investigation, deputies were able to determine that it was a paintball gun.
The man was identified as Jaiden Bommarito, who had two active warrants out of McCracken and Ballard counties. During a search of Bommarito, deputies found a small plastic bag with methamphetamine and a 9mm handgun concealed in a plastic bag, wrapped in clothing. Bommarito was also in possession of a suspended drivers license.
Bommarito was arrested and lodged in the Ballard County Jail. He's charged with possession of methamphetamine and failure to surrender a revoked operator's license. He was also arrested on the two outstanding warrants.
