Man Arrested on Several Charges after Foot Pursuit

A Barlow man was arrested Monday afternoon on drug and other charges.

The Ballard County Sheriff's Office says deputies saw a man outside a gas station in La Center they believed to have outstanding felony warrants for his arrest.

Deputies said the man, later identified as 41-year-old Quincy Thompson, attempted to disguise himself by putting on a face mask. When deputies made contact with Thompson, he fled on foot.

Deputies arrested Thompson after a short pursuit. They found a glass smoking pipe containing suspected methamphetamine on him during a search.

Thompson was booked into the Ballard County Jail on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two Ballard County arrest warrants.
