The investigation revealed that 31-year-old Mitchell Meyer of Lowes was westbound on KY 849 West when his vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway and struck some mailboxes. Meyer then over-corrected, crossed both lanes of the highway and ran off the south shoulder of the roadway.
After Meyer’s vehicle left the road, it rolled over at least four times before coming to rest right side up in a field. Meyer was not ejected from the vehicle because he was wearing his seat belt.
Meyer was transported to Lourdes Hospital by Mayfield/Graves County EMS. Due to his injuries, he was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants 3rd offense, failure to produce an insurance card, not having a Kentucky operator’s license in his possession and failure to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change.
