Authorities continue to look into fraud allegations against a Benton funeral home owner.

Commonwealth's Attorney Mark Blankenship says the Kentucky Department of Insurance is investigating complaints from customers who allegedly paid Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home owner Tim King to buy insurance policies that he never actually purchased.

"The issue that's being looked into is whether or not these premiums that were collected were ever then sent on to the insurance company so that a policy could be issued." Blankenship said.

Investigators served search warrants on Monday at the funeral home related to a possible insurance fraud investigation. Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars told West Kentucky Star his agency assisted officials who served the warrants. Byars said his deputies provided standby assistance to Kentucky State Police and Kentucky Department of Insurance investigators, and he had no other information about the case.

King's attorney Emily Roark says her client is fully cooperating with authorities, and he is continuing to operate his business normally.

No charges have been filed against King at this time.
