I-24 Crash Leads to DUI, Drug Charges for Woman

An Illinois woman was charged with DUI and drug offenses after a crash on I-24.

Acording to Kentucky State Police, Troopers responded Tuesday afternoon to a two-vehicle injury collision at the 31 mile marker westbound on Interstate 24.

The initial investigation showed 63-year-old Cynthia Dillow of Marion, Illinois was traveling westbound when she struck the rear end of a tractor trailer driven by 54-year-old Timothy Jackson of Sullivan, Missouri.

Dillow complained of chest pains as a result of the collision and was taken to a local hospital. Troopers said she was not wearing a seat belt. Jackson was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Dillow was cited and released for DUI Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. 1st offense, two counts of possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seat belt.

The collision is being investigated by Trooper Derral Redwine. Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Great Lakes Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.
