Marshall County Schools issued a press release to ease the minds of folks in the area of the high school if they see a helicopter arrive on campus Wednesday morning.

The school is hosting a a First Responder's Appreciation Breakfast at 7:30 am. The Life Flight crew from Vanderbilt University Hospital, which helped during last year's shooting, is scheduled to attend, and if the weather permits, they will be arriving via helicopter and landing on the MCHS football field.

In the release, Kevin Jackson with Marshall County Schools said, "We wanted you to know and to be aware of their potential arrival via helicopter so that you would not be alarmed."

After the breakfast, students, faculty and staff will hold a remembrance ceremony around 8 am. Students will participate in some other activities to mark the date that afternoon, and a community remembrance is at 6 pm at Mike Miller Park.

There will be overflow parking available tonight at Central Elementary School with a shuttle running to Mike Miller Park and back. The community event will be held regardless of the weather conditions.

For those unable to attend, the event will be streamed live on the First Missionary Baptist Church's Facebook page.
