One man was injured when a motorcycle and pickup truck collided in Graves County Monday morning.

The accident happened around 9:15 am on US 45 South, just north of Pryorsburg. According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, a motorcycle operated by Jonathan Cates of Mississippi was traveling south and attempted to pass multiple vehicles that were behind a slow-moving tractor.

Deputies said as Cates was passing, a pickup truck driven by Aaron Ford tried to make a left turn onto a county road entering Livestock Commodities. The motorcycle struck the front driver's side of the truck, throwing Cates off the motorcycle.

Cates was airlifted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN for treatment of his injuries. Ford and his passenger were not injured in the crash.
