Police are investigating an armed robbery in Livingston County on Friday.

According to Kentucky State Police, the BP gas station at I-24 exit 31 near Grand Rivers was robbed about 12:10 pm. Troopers watched video surveillance, which showed a white male enter the store, robbing it at knife-point. Nobody was injured during the crime.

The suspect is described as heavyset with dark hair and dark facial hair. He was wearing an orange shirt under a black jacket, a black and orange toboggan hat, and had a surgical mask covering his face. The man reportedly left the scene in a silver SUV and there may have been a female in the vehicle.

Troopers later learned that a white man and woman were involved in an armed robbery in Adair County on Thursday. Those suspects were identified as 34-year-old Timothy Smith and 31-year-old Brittni Smith, both of Evansville. State Troopers say photos of Timothy Smith from Adair County match the description of the man at the Grand Rivers BP Station. Police say the getaway car in Adair County was a silver Chevrolet Equinox SUV.

Warrants have been issued in Adair County for the arrest of the Smiths, and police there say they drove into Taylor County, where they allegedly stole two vehicles. State Police are warning people to lock their vehicles.

Anyone with information about the Smiths or this robbery investigation should call Kentucky State Police at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 800-222-5555.
