Former County Employee Faces Theft Charge

Police have arrested a former Calloway County employee accused of charging personal items to an office credit card.

The Kentucky State Police says officers arrested 36-year-old Rebecca Billington of Puryear, TN on Friday and charged her with theft by unlawful taking over $500, and under $10,000, a Class D Felony. State Police detectives said they were contacted by the Calloway County Extension Office, where Billington used to work, about personal charges she allegedly made on a company credit card. Billington was arrested and booked into the Calloway County Jail.

Troopers are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555. Tipsters can also report tips anonymously through the KSP app available at the Apple and Google Play stores.
