Former Carlisle County Sheriff Jack Bowman died Friday at his home at the age of 77.

The Carlisle County Sheriff's Department shared two photos of Bowman on their Facebook page Saturday, expressing their sadness at Bowman's passing and offering their condolences to his family.

Bowman served as Carlisle County Sheriff from 1982-1989, and also served as police chief for the city of Bardwell for ten years. 

Bowman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia, two sisters, one daughter, two sons, several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. 

Bowman's funeral is Tuesday at 11 am at Milner and Orr Funeral Home in Bardwell. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 pm, also at the funeral home.
