Fire Closes Cracker Barrel Until Wednesday

Fire crews responded early Tuesday morning to a small fire at the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Mayfield.

Assistant Chief Darren French with the Mayfield Fire Department says crews were called to the restaurant shortly after midnight, where they found smoke coming from inside. He said the fire, which appeared to be electrical, was put out quickly and caused only minimal damage to one small area of the building.

French said contractors worked on Tuesday to repair the damage, which was mainly caused by smoke.

The restaurant was closed all day on Tuesday. Restaurant officials said the health inspector is coming Wednesday morning, and they hope to reopen after that.
