Deputies Seize Counterfeit Bills Near Kuttawa

A Kuttawa man was charged with first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument Sunday afternoon, after deputies found over $8,600 in counterfeit $100 bills in his home.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff's Department, deputies were called to a home on Robertson Road, near Kuttawa, for a disturbance complaint.

Deputies say during the on-scene investigation, they observed the counterfeit cash in plain view inside the home.

The homeowner, 33-year-old Timothy M. Wyse, will face a January 8th arraignment in Lyon County District Court on the forged instrument charge.

Deputies also say this investigation is ongoing, and more charges could be possible. They ask anyone with information concerning this crime to contact them at (270)-388-2311.
