The event was scheduled for Saturday, August 1 at the Kenneth Shadowen Performing Arts Center at Marshall County High School.
CFSB’s Vice President, Director of Communications Jeremy Rose said that the decision was not an easy one.
“We really agonized over this," said Rose. "We were looking forward to bringing a fun evening to our community, but with so much uncertainty surrounding this illness, from general health concerns to still unknown August capacity restrictions, we did not want to take any unnecessary risks.”
CFSB President Jason Jones said that money normally reserved for the production of the Watermelon Bust will be donated to area hospitals, health departments, and small business relief organizations.
