Woman Injured in Cairo Shooting

A woman was injured in a shooting in Cairo on Tuesday.

The shooting occurred in the 2300 block of Pine Street. A 25-year-old Cairo woman received non-life threatening injuries when she was struck by the gunfire.

The woman was transported by ambulance to a regional hospital where she was treated and released.

The incident is being investigated by the Cairo Police Department, Alexander County Sheriff's Department, and Illinois State Police.
