Stalled Car Causes Multiple Crashes on I-24 Bridge

A stalled car on the Interstate 24 bridge Monday caused two crashes involving six vehicles.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department,  authorities were notified of a motorist assist on the I-24 bridge at approximately 4:47 pm. While en route to the motorist assist, the stalled vehicle was struck by two vehicles. Three other vehicles were involved in a second collision trying to avoid the first wreck.  

Two persons from Metropolis were transported to a local hospital. The other eight persons involved sought treatment on their own or were not injured and refused treatment on scene.

Both collisions are still under investigation.
