Three people were injured and one person is in custody after gunshots were reported Saturday evening in Carbondale. 

Carbondale Police told KFVS-12 that a dispute about 6:15 pm led to the gunshots in the 700 block of North Robert A. Stalls Avenue. 

Three people were taken to SIH Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officers said all three had reportedly been shot, and two received life-threatening injuries. 

Police said one person was in custody and charges were pending.

Several people have reportedly been hurt after gunshots were reported Saturday evening in Carbondale.

SIU Police Chief Ben Newman told KFVS-12 his agency responded as mutual aid along with Carbondale Police, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and Illinois State Police. Newman said there is no connection between the incident and SIU, they were just there to help.

The shooting reportedly happened between 6 - 7 pm on the northeast side of the city near the Eurma Hayes Center.
