Metropolis Fire Destroys Home

An early morning fire destroyed a home at 114 W Market St. in Metropolis.

The Metropolis Fire Department was dispatched at 2 am after reports came in of the fire and possible explosion.

Metropolis Fire Department Captain Jason Morris told West Kentucky Star the home was vacant at the time of the fire, and that no neighboring homes were damaged.  When asked about the possibility of an explosion, Morris stated that the cause is undetermined and pending investigation.
