Man Arrested in Massac County Burglary Case

A Saline County man has been arrested in connection to an October burglary case in Massac County.

The Massac County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded in October to a report of a burglary on Mt. Pleasant Road. A Ruger 9mm, a Smith & Wesson 40 caliber pistol, a New England 410 gauge shotgun and a Winchester 20 gauge shotgun were stolen during the burglary.

Deputies eventually identified 19-year-old Corey Atkison of Galatia as a suspect. Deputies located Atkison in Brookport and arrested him after questioning. He is charged with burglary and theft. 

The stolen guns were not recovered. Anyone with information regarding the stolen firearms is asked to contact the Massac County Sheriff's Office at 618-524-2912.
