Car, Semi Crash on I-57 Injures One Person

A collision early Thursday morning between a car and a tractor-trailer injured one driver.

Illinois State Police said the accident happened near the 12-mile marker of Interstate 57 at 1:35 am. Troopers said that 24-year-old Devon Russell Salley Antwaun of Ullin was northbound when his car overheated and he pulled over onto the shoulder. Some time later, a tractor-trailer driven by 61-year-old Jorge Puig Campos of Miami struck the car on the driver's side. 

Antwaun was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Puig-Campos was not hurt, but he was cited for improper driving on the shoulder.
