A pair of records were broken on our final days of frigid cold Thursday and Friday, including the coldest morning in over 70 years.

On Thursday, Paducah set the mark for its coldest high temperature for the date of 21 degrees. That smashed the previous record of 30 set in 2006.

Then on Friday morning, Paducah fell to 1 degree above zero. That tied the all time record for the date, set in 1963.

Similar records were set across the region in Evansville, Carbondale, Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff.
