A Dyersburg, TN man was charged with murder after an investigation in Calloway County.
State Police received a call from Calloway County Dispatch just before 8 pm on Tuesday requesting troopers respond to the report of a deceased male found beside a roadway in the Almo community.
Troopers and detectives responded to the 3800 block of Almo-Shiloh Road where a deceased male was found. The victim was identified as 34-year-old David A. Dicke of Paducah. An autopsy revealed Dicke died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
A few miles away along Independence Road, Calloway County Sheriff's deputies were called because a man was seen attempting to break into vehicles. The man, identified as 43-year-old Shelby B. Junior of Dyersburg, Tennessee, was also the suspect in the nearby murder case.
Junior was spotted in a gravel pit. He fled at high speed from deputies hitting landscape boulders, disabling his vehicle.
Authorities arrested and charged Junior with murder in connection to Dicke's death. Junior was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, theft, and fleeing or evading police.
