A motorcycle crash on Saturday in Lyon County seriously injured a man.
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said that 45-year-old William T. Kirby was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Titus Road toward KY 818 when a deer entered the road in front of him. Kirby reportedly lost control trying to avoid a collision with the animal. He is said to have run off the road and hit a speed limit sign with the bike rolling over on him.
Kirby was seriously injured and had to be flown to an out-of-state hospital for treatment.
Deputies suspect speed and alcohol could have been factors in the crash.
