The AQS Quilt Week in Paducah that had been moved from April to September is now cancelled.

Meredith Schroeder, President of the American Quilter's Society, notified members, friends, vendors and suppliers in a letter, saying the cancellation of five events is due to continued concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. She said the health and safety of everyone is of the utmost importance.

The Paducah event was scheduled for September 2-5, and an event was set for later that month in South Carolina. Other events in Pennsylvania and Michigan were going to be held in August.

AQS will begin issuing refunds or credits to anyone who was registered and any vendors who had paid to participate. Their goal is to have this accomplished by July 15.

Schroeder told quilters and vendors to mark their calendars for spring shows in 2021, including Daytona Beach in February, Branson in March, and April 21-24 in Paducah.

In March, while concerns over the pandemic were growing and Governor Andy Beshear began shutting down events, churches and businesses, AQS moved the Paducah event to September, hoping that it could still be held this year.
