Community Ventures in partnership with the City of Hickman, Fulton County, and the Fulton-Hickman Counties Economic Development Partnership, Friday celebrated the revitalization of the first CV-financed home in Hickman in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The home is a dream come true for first-time homeowner and long-time Hickman resident, Latequa Kinney, and it preserves and improves existing housing in Hickman.
The newly revitalized home creates one more affordable home for residents and helps meet the ongoing housing demand in Fulton County.
According to the 2024 KY Housing Supply Gap Analysis by KHC, Kentucky needs 206,207 new homes to meet the housing demand of residents. Since 2023 these partners have been working to create housing solutions for Fulton County.
The project was funded by the Rural Housing Trust Fund which is administered by the Kentucky Housing Corporation.
