The Market House Theater is looking to raise money through the 19th annual Paxton Challenge.

In a statement, the theatre says the money will directly benefit their day-to-day operations. The theatre, like many others, has suffered a loss of revenue due to the pandemic. Theatre staff say that although the pandemic has had an affect on their budget, it hasn't stopped them from continuing their mission.

"Our online classes and shows and our limited in-person classes are going on this summer. We have adapted our spaces and our programming to meet the challenges of this new world we find ourselves in. With smaller classes and audiences, we are still expanding opportunities. Creating these opportunities needs funding at a time when our income from ticket sales is even more limited," the email said.

They have set a goal to raise $40,000 this year through the challenge. They also note that the Fred and Peggy Paxton Endowment Fund will match all donations up to $10,000.

According to the email, "This year, possibly more than ever, your Market House Theatre needs your help during the 19th Annual Fred Paxton Challenge for Charities."

Anyone that is interested in donating can do so through the Community Foundation of West Kentucky at the link below. The challenge ends on August 31.

During last year's challenge, the organization raised over $20,000.
