Due to COVID-19 concerns in the area, the Jackson Purchase Historical Society has decided to postpone its July 18 meeting.
Author and community development advisor, Bobbie Smith Bryant was planned to speak at the Mayfield meeting. The Society said they are thankful Bryant was so cooperative and understanding in reaching their decision.
The Jackson Purchase Historical Society said they hope to reschedule the meeting when the public health situation is more conducive to group gatherings but haven't identified a certain date.
The Jackson Purchase Historical Society Journal should appear on time and will be mailed to members in July. Members will receive a mail ballot for officers for 2020-2021 within the coming week since there will not be an in-person meeting to hold the election.
Any questions or comments should be referred to Society President Bill Mulligan at billmulligan@murray-ky.net.
