Due to the donation of a large paperback book collection, this sale will feature a larger than usual collection of large print, science fiction/fantasy, western, and fiction paperback titles. According to sale coordinator Jennie Boyarski, “Most of the sale materials are in a subject arrangement; however, there will be several tables of audiovisual materials as well as special collection titles that feature collector and local interest authors and topics.”
Most of the hardback and trade edition books will sell for $1 each, and most paperback books will be offered at 50 cents apiece. Media materials are also offered at rock bottom prices.
The semiannual used book sale is a Friends of the McCracken County Public Library fundraiser. The proceeds after expenses are donated to the library in support of collection and program development. Over the last twenty plus years, Friends have donated almost $300, 000 to the library.
Posters and signed, limited edition art prints of the original Carnegie Library floodwall mural will be for sale.
Back by popular demand, the St. Paul Lutheran Church congregation will conduct a bake sale to support church mission projects.
