Paducah's Dogwood Trail is marked and the gorgeous trees will bloom in a few weeks! The beauty of spring in our City will not be deterred by the threat of possible sickness, however, indoor dogwood celebration gatherings will not be held.

The Civic Beautification Board (CBB), in consideration of the City's COVID-19 prevention measures, is canceling Dogwood Trail events such as tree awards and art reception and presentations, trolley tours, etc. With guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the state and local health departments, the City of Paducah is taking temporary measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Cindy Jones, CBB President, informed the media Saturday: "Our 56th annual Dogwood Tail will be as beautiful as ever, but our board wants to act in the best interest of our citizens' health and well being. Gathering to celebrate the dogwoods and present awards this spring would not be wise. We encourage everyone to light their lawns, shrubs and flowering trees as always. This is one attraction that can continue as usual for individuals and families to walk, drive or bike. The marked trail weaves in and out of neighborhoods and will be a lovely spring experience once the blooms open."
