Graves County 35, Mayfield 28
It had been 15 straight wins in the Battle of the Birds for the Mayfield Cardinals going into Friday's game. The last Eagles win came in 2008 when the Eagles won 29-12.

On Friday the Eagles broke the streak with a 35-28 win at home. The first win ever against Mayfield at Jay F. Buckley Field.

The Cardinals struck first on their second possession of the game going up 7-0 with just under three minutes remaining in the first quarter. Graves would answer to end the quarter with a 21-yard reception from Kaden Gregory to Brayden Woodward to close the quarter with the game tied at 7-7.

Graves would take their first lead and never trail the rest of the game on a 7-yard pass from Gregory to Ty Cavette with 4:25 remaining in the second quarter. That score would hold at the halftime break.

The Eagles received the football to start the second half and took quick advantage with a 64-yard reception from Gregory to Lincoln Acree to go up 21-7 with 11:02 remaining in the quarter. Mayfield would quickly answer to pull back within seven at the 9:36 mark.

Just 18 seconds later Graves struck again with another Gregory to Acree connection, this one for 66-yards to put the Eagles up 28-14 at the 9:18 mark in the third quarter.

Mayfield would then go on to score 14 unanswered to tie the game at 28 each with 7:56 remaining.

A second Acree interception of the half would help give the Eagles the ball for the winning drive as Gregory capped off the drive with an 11-yard scramble to put Graves back on top for good at the 3:11 mark.

The Eagles (1-0) will travel to Paducah Tilghman next week, while Mayfield (0-1) will travel to Hopkinsville.

Union City 35, Murray 28
Murray's comeback bid fell short Friday night as the Tigers managed to erase a 21-7 defeciet at the half to tie the game at 21 each midway through the third quarter. That score would hold going into the final quarter.

The Tigers got touchdowns from Tristen Dennis and Isaiah Martin on passes from Wyatt Robbins.

Union City Golden Tornado would retake the lead early in the fourth going up 28-21 with just over ten minutes left in the game. Murray would answer and tie the game again as Robbins found Martin for a 45-yard pass to make it 28-28.

The Golden Tornado would break the tie and take the final lead with just eight seconds remaning in the game on a 21-yard touchdown pass.

The Tigers (0-1) will face Calloway County (0-1) next week.
