Mustangs advance to state soccer semifinals

For the second straight game in the boys state tournament, the McCracken County Mustangs survived and advanced after forcing the game to go to penalty kicks.

Julian Warfield put the Mustangs on the board first with 22' to play. DeSales eventually tied the game with 12' to play as that would be the only scoring either team would do in regulation.

Neither team found the net in overtime, forcing the game to be decided by penalty kids. The Mustangs eventually connected on four penalty kicks to DeSales one.

McCracken County advances to the semifinals to be played on Wednesday, October 25th at 4pm at Lafayette in Lexington. They will meet the winner of the Ashland Blazer vs. Lafayette game, which will be played tomorrow.
